Job Title:
Controls EngineerJob Description Join a dynamic team dedicated to designing, manufacturing, and installing complex machinery for industrial finishing and cleaning systems. Our organization is split between two specialized divisions: Industrial Finishing and Aqueous Cleaning Systems, serving a diverse customer base across North America including automotive suppliers, tool manufacturers, and powder coating companies. We are seeking a qualified Controls Engineer to lead the development and design efforts of our innovative products. Responsibilities + Manage projects and oversee installation after design, build, and sale. + Provide oversight on FATs and final run-offs at the facility before equipment is sent to customer sites. + Conduct customer courtesy visits as required. + Lead PLC programming, HMI programming, and electrical/panel design efforts. + Lead robot startup and commissioning. + Address warranty issues for customers and provide service support. + Assist floor fabrication to ensure correct assembly of equipment. Essential Skills + Experience in panel design, preferably using DraftSight by SolidWorks. + Proficiency in PLC programming from scratch, including Mitsubishi and Omron. + Expertise in automation, electrical design, and troubleshooting. + Familiarity with controls engineering and control system design. + Capability in HMI programming and robotics. + Experience with AutoCAD, Rockwell, Allen Bradley PLC, and Mitsubishi PLC. + Willingness to travel for FAT and commissioning. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is a plus. + Strong background in electrical and controls for projects. Work Environment Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm, with some weekend work potentially required based on project needs. This is a small, family-owned organization that offers full oversight of electrical and controls for projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
