Job Description

PLC Programmer "Making Impossible Possible" is the Advanced Solutions & Control's (ASC) moto. We are looking for a new team member that will help achieve this goal for our customers by offering experience, professionalism & dedication.
WHAT WE DO
Advanced Solutions & Controls is a turnkey solutions provider of electrical and mechanical automation systems. ASC additionally designs and provides electrical distribution equipment along with R&D for specialized solutions. Markets include, but are not limited to; manufacturing, New Industrial construction, Transportation Division, Water/Wastewater & Pumping Stations. We need motivated and innovative personnel on our team to continue our growth and strengthen our position in the market.
JOB SUMMARY A
strong experienced PLC programmer. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining PLC programs and HMI's for industrial automation systems. Your primary focus will be on Train & Rail and Water Transfer projects, with additional responsibilities extending to projects in other industrial markets. You will ensure seamless communication between various automation components, integrating PLCs with SCADA systems and other automation components.
Responsibilities include:
  • Work with the Engineering Design team to create a Sequence of Operation on the current project program.
  • Work with Project Engineer to provide customer with HMI design outline and flow chart.
  • Work with Tech Writing and Training Team to create a manual.
Ex:
Provide screen shots of HMI screens, etc.
  • System monitoring, debugging and troubleshooting operational problems.
  • Configure other automation devices, such as VFDs for automation/control.
  • Set up VPN Tunnels and port-forwarding rules in managed switches/routers.
  • Provide remote support to ASC field service team to troubleshoot issues.
  • Originate, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs using ladder logic, function block diagrams, or structured text to control various industrial processes and equipment.
  • Originate and modify HMI programs to customer specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to industrial networks, including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and Profibus, ensuring reliable communication between PLCs, SCADA systems, and other automation devices.
  • Conduct thorough testing of PLC programs to ensure proper functionality, adherence to specifications, and compatibility with existing systems, utilizing appropriate hardware and software tools.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES
  • 4+ years of applicable programming experience.
  • Experience programming Studio 5000 + one other major PLC platform (Siemens would be a PLUS)
  • Develop Customer graphics for HMI
  • Experience in programming Water/Wastewater controls. (PLUS)
  • Process support systems such as Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment experience (PLUS).
  • Experience in troubleshooting PLC systems and instrumentation. Example- using a Loop Calibrator and Multimeter. (PLUS)
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required.
  • Highly organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking and cyber security (PLUS)
  • Experience programming Ignition + one other major SCADA platform.

Wonderware, Aveva, Ignition, Optix (PLUS)
