Duties, Responsibilities & Other Job Summary:

The Senior Designer I (Sr DTI) position is the sixth level in the Designer career track. This career track is tasked with providing designs for utility systems including but not limited to: Overhead and underground circuits for joint use, lighting, and commercial, industrial and residential development and gas and generation systems. This track is also responsible for field data collection and assists with storm restoration when requested. This role involves managing assigned design projects of varying complexity, permit documentation and providing support to others for assigned projects with independence. The Sr DTI will directly communicate with clients to request additional work or project opportunities in addition to tracking progress of their projects. This position primarily involves working in an office environment. There is an expectation of significant field work, which may include exposure to inclement weather conditions such as extreme heat/cold, high humidity, rain, snow and icy conditions.

Key Technical Skills Required:

CAD Experience

Power Distribution Expereince

Pole Analysis software

WMS experience (ex. Maximo)

Understanding of Electrical Components

Circuit knowledge of electrical components

Advanced distribution technicques (switchgear, cap bank)

Conduit systems

Advancing knowledge of reliability schemes

Field and workzone safety Your key responsibilities include: Demonstrating a high-level of expertise in performing and instructing field data collection and project-specific inspection techniques.

Producing high-quality computer-aided design drawings and material lists for assigned projects.

Providing guidance and training to peers and designers as assigned by supervision.

Ensuring all necessary communications are documented on projects designed as required by training.

Maintaining a thorough and complete understanding of the permitting process.

Communicating with clients to request additional work or project opportunities to maintain ongoing engagement and service continuity. This role will work without consistent guidance. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent, and ten years relevant work experience, or an Associate's Degree and eight years of work experience.

Valid driver's license required for field-oriented roles.
