Job Description
Fire Sprinkler Designer- Fire Sprinkler Division Steelwater Construction, LLC. has an immediate need for a Fire Sprinkler Designer in our Easley, SC location. This individual is responsible for designing and estimating fire sprinkler systems for various construction projects ensuring compliance with local, state, and national codes/regulations. The designer will work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to create effective and efficient fire protection solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of fire protection engineering principles, CAD software, and relevant building codes. What You'll Do:
Design and Planning:
Develop detailed fire sprinkler system designs and estimates using CAD software (Hydra CAD, Revit, etc.). Create accurate and compliant design drawings and specifications. Ensure designs meet all relevant codes and standards, including NFPA, local, and state regulations.
Project Coordination :
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints. Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather necessary information for design. Coordinate with other trades and disciplines to ensure integrated and clash-free designs.
Documentation and Review:
Prepare and submit all necessary documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations, for permit applications and approvals. Review and verify designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and codes. Update and maintain design records and project documentation.
Technical Support:
Provide technical support during the installation phase to resolve design-related issues. Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and material lists. Conduct hydraulic calculations to ensure system performance and compliance.
Compliance and Standards :
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and code changes. Ensure all designs adhere to company standards, best practices, and client requirements. Participate in internal design reviews and quality control processes.

What You Bring:
NICET Level (I, II, or III) in Fire Protection Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire sprinkler system design. Proficiency in CAD software (Hydra CAD, AutoCAD, Revit) and hydraulic calculation software. Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, building codes, and fire protection regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and software preferred. Familiarity with project management tools and practices preferred.
