Electrical Designer Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Jelec USA, Inc. - Katy, TX About Jelec Jelec USA is a rapidly growing manufacturer of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Power Distribution Systems (PDS), and advanced power conversion equipment serving data centers, utilities, renewable energy, and industrial markets. Our team designs and manufactures fully integrated energy storage solutions from our Katy, Texas facility. As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an Electrical Designer to join our engineering team and help develop next-generation energy storage products. Position Summary The Electrical Designer will work closely with Electrical Engineers and Manufacturing to develop complete electrical design packages for Battery Energy Storage Systems, industrial control panels, and power distribution equipment. This position is responsible for producing detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and Bills of Material used for manufacturing and field installation. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-career designer looking to work on cutting-edge energy storage technology. Responsibilities Create detailed electrical schematics using Capital X Panel Designer (Capital Electra) or equivalent electrical CAD software Develop panel layouts and enclosure designs Produce wiring diagrams and cable interconnection drawings Create terminal strip layouts and wire numbering Develop PLC I/O drawings Generate Bills of Material (BOMs) Support engineering change orders and document revisions Maintain electrical drawing standards and templates Coordinate with Manufacturing to improve build documentation Support prototype builds and factory acceptance testing Assist with design improvements based on manufacturing feedback Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline 3-5 years of electrical design experience Experience with industrial electrical CAD software such as: Siemens Capital X Panel Designer (Capital Electra) EPLAN Electric P8 AutoCAD Electrical
