An Electrical Designer designs and creates layout for the electrical systems that power lighting, security, telephone and sound in buildings; creates wiring diagrams, develops specifications for electrical systems to meet code requirements. Designs and create layout of the printed circuit boards that are components of most electronic equipment.
Lubbock, TX Overview One of our clients is seeking an Electrical Designer to join their engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing electrical designs, including lighting and power plans, creating detailed schematics, and ensuring all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of commercial and industrial projects while working in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Develop detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD and Revit. Create lighting, power, and electrical distribution plans based on project requirements. Collaborate with project engineers, architects, and other team members to develop effective electrical designs. Ensure all designs comply with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications. Coordinate the selection of electrical components and materials. Perform design reviews, troubleshoot design issues, and conduct quality checks throughout the project lifecycle. Provide technical support to construction teams during installation, including responding to design clarifications and resolving field issues. Qualifications Proven experience in electrical design within engineering, consulting, or construction environments. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit for electrical drafting and design. Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations, including NEC. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant certifications are a plus. Experience with Revit is preferred.
