Do you enjoy precision soldering, PCB rework, prototype assembly, and collaborating directly with engineers on cutting-edge products? We are seeking a skilled Electronics Prototype & PCB Rework Technician to support advanced product development initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, helping bring innovative technologies from concept to reality. What You'll Be Doing Precision PCB Rework & Soldering Perform advanced SMT and PCB rework for engineering prototypes Replace, modify, and repair electronic components on printed circuit boards Work on fine-pitch components and miniature 0201 devices Execute trace cuts, jumper wire installations, and engineering change orders Maintain high-quality workmanship using lead-free soldering processes Prototype Assembly & Development Assemble and modify custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses Support electro-mechanical prototype builds Follow engineering schematics, BOMs, drawings, and work instructions Ensure prototypes meet quality, reliability, and performance requirements Engineering Lab Support Partner closely with engineering teams during product development Assist with troubleshooting, validation, and testing activities Document modifications, test results, and engineering findings Help drive projects from prototype to production readiness Test Equipment Operation You'll regularly work with: Oscilloscopes Digital Multimeters (DMMs) Power Supplies SMT Rework Stations Heat Guns PCB Preheaters You'll also assist with laboratory testing and evaluation of electronic systems and hardware. What We're Looking For ✅ Required Experience High School Diploma or GED 5+ years of hands-on PCB soldering and electronic assembly experience Experience working in engineering, R D, prototype, or product development environments Strong knowledge of lead-free soldering techniques ✅ Technical Skills You should have experience with: SMT rework and component replacement Fine-pitch soldering PCB modifications and jumper installations Reworking components down to 0201 package sizes Microscope-based soldering and inspection Ability to interpret: Electrical schematics Assembly drawings Mechanical drawings PCB rework instructions Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Knowledge of:
Electronic components Wire gauges Connector systems Hand assembly tools and soldering equipment Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
