Job Description
Consider before submitting an application: This position is expected to start May 2026 and continue through summer term (ending approximately August 2026 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students:
If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year. The Internship Recruiting Team is driven by the passion to recognize and develop emerging talent. We are dedicated to providing an experience that allows the intern to experience life at Tesla by including them in projects that are critical to their team's success. As a Program Manager Intern, you will be immersed in the design engineering process and will shepherd projects from concept through to prototype validation and then production ramp. You will use your engineering background to understand the product requirements, technical risks, and the validation strategy to accelerate the development process. You will communicate and present project status, highlight schedule risk, and develop recovery plans in the event of project slip. On a daily basis, you will interface with cross function teams - design, manufacturing, compliance, system test, reliability, supply chain and operations to define and drive development of new product programs, while also managing changes in existing programs. As a Technical Program Manager, you will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy on your programs while contributing to the development of tools and processes that improve the organization's productivity.Location:
Palo Alto, CA Establish and manage programs feature baseline, scheduling, critical path, and technology risks areas for execution Identify tactical (exercise operational excellence) and creative ways to overcome obstacles while meeting deadlines despite setback Develop tools to automate various reporting or planning functions for the Technical Programs Management team Conduct planning and execution/support of NPI builds Cross-functionally communicate key development updates, risks, and timeline on projects as well as presenting to leadership Pursuing a Degree in an Engineering discipline or related field Experience in a fast paced, NPI, cross-functional team orientated environment managing programs with high level of autonomy Demonstrated understanding of new product development cycles and criticality of time-to-market Ability to grasp complex technical topics and abstract key issues and risks in an actionable form Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication skills both verbal and written Skills with common workplace software (word processor, spreadsheet, presentation software etc) with the ability to create and maintain metrics Benefits As a full-time Tesla Intern, you will be eligible for: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans.
