The Project Engineer (PE), who works under direction and guidance of the Project Manager, assists in the management and direction of all aspects of a project. This includes communicating with clients on projects development, issuing and tracking of change orders, QC shop drawings, detailing, and document control. The PE assists with CAD drafting QC, project confirmations, and schedule tracking. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in reading and understanding Architectural plan-sets, experience working with PDF, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Job Duties:
0-2 years' related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience Strong computer background including experience with MS Office and any related estimating software (may include Blue Beam, MS Project,) Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form Ability to solve problems based on clearly defined procedures Capable of proactively participating in discussions, asking questions and thinking critically, ensuring understanding and providing explanations clearly and precisely Willing to work cooperatively with others to achieve team goals and objectives Complete a thorough review of the plans and specs and create an accurate project confirmation clearly identifying the panel types, quantity, thickness, fire rating class, system, and color. Mark and highlight all plan pages (floor plan, elevations or finish schedule) where WPS Scope of Work is indicated and have the ability to monitor and track changes as project develops. Issue and track all Change Orders and review with Project Manager. Develop a time schedule and priority list for work to be accomplished. Record all applicable information in Project Control/Document Control System with target dates for completion of tasks; review with Project Manager on a biweekly basis. Review Project Specification for shop drawings submittal requirements and prepare transmittals and shop drawings. Review the shop drawings against the architect's plans and specifications and discuss any discrepancies you find with the Project Manager. Make sure the submittal package includes the required number of shop drawings per the specifications, color selection samples on anything requiring color selections, sink and fixture schedules with catalog cuts, and utility service schedules. Follow up with the sub-contractor or general contractor for performance dates on return of submittal and notify Project Manager if these dates slip. Able to pass drug-test and Clean criminal background check Qualifications- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Millwork/cabinetry background preferred (not a requirement)
