Role:

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our client's site in Santa Clara, CA. This role will support development of consumable fluidic devices, contributing to advancing a low cost single-molecule DNA sequencer that can improve disease screening and cancer diagnostics. The position involves supporting consumable device components and surface chemistry teams across multiple engineering activities.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Flowcell manufacturing, process development and assembly. Facilitate senior engineers in SolidWorks design. Dimensional and mechanical measurements, including data analysis and reporting. Surface metrology and characterization. Component testing, quality checks, and visual inspection. Sample preparation for external analysis. Component and subcomponent inventory management; shipping preparation and receiving. Support multiple engineering activities in a timely manner to meet project needs.

Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline from an accredited institution. 0-2 years of professional experience required. Familiarity with SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on lab experience. Microfabrication, microfluidics, and materials knowledge or experience. Familiarity with metrology or microscopy equipment. About
