Santa Clara, CA Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high-speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high-speed connectors and cable-based interconnects Component development as well as customer support on new product introduction Contribute to an established team of dedicated signal integrity engineers and engineers of other disciplines Share knowledge and pursue continuous improvement in methods and workflows Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the development of next-generation high-speed I/O interconnect products Assist with providing solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors with their high-speed data transmission requirements Support the internal Sales Engineers to develop strategies for product break-in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise Identify and resolve signal Integrity issues in PCB layout Design, build, and measure circuit boards for the measurement and verification of products Apply circuit theory and high-speed digital transmission, PCB layout principles for high-speed digital design Serve as the primary SI technical point of contact for strategic customers. Participate in customer meetings and provide support by addressing customer requests and ensuring timely resolution of SI-related issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Electrical Engineering; MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred 7+ years of industry experience with an understanding of electromagnetic principles for digital signal integrity Experience in component design and application of high-speed connectors into communications equipment is a plus Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging with TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors and similar measurement equipment Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave, HSPICE, MATLAB, and ADS Hands-on experience with frequency-domain and time-domain components and circuit characterization including understanding of test and calibration methods Excellent communication, customer-facing, problem solving skills. The base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $225,000. In determining rate of pay, Amphenol considers a variety of nondiscriminatory factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant industry experience, qualifications, skills, and education. It would be rare for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a given role.
