East Hartford, Connecticut Job Description The AV Field Engineer is responsible for a variety of duties associated with the closeout and commissioning of complex audiovisual systems. This position is responsible for ensuring proper installation of integrated systems, quality control of audiovisual infrastructure, testing and final calibrations. Interfacing with client to include demonstration of new system operations, client trainings, obtaining client sign-offs. The primary job functions are as follows: System Testing, Troubleshooting & Optimization
Fully test basic & integrated systems
Working with and understanding testing equipment
Develop & write test reports
System Configuration, Downloading & Testing
Extron Products (Medialink, IPLink, TouchLink)
Crestron, AMX Control Systems Cisco, Polycom, and Vidyo Video Conferencing Systems
DSP - Biamp Tesira/Audia/Nexia, Polycom SoundStructure, ClearOne Converge/Interact, BSS Soundweb
Crestron DigitalMedia and AMX Enova Systems
Installation including but not limited to:
Ceiling/wall mounted cameras, speakers & displays (LCDs, plasmas, etc.)
Cabling infrastructure, AV Racks
Wall plates and interfaces (audio, video, or control)
Microphones (ceiling, table, wired, or wireless)
Proficiency in various terminations including, but not limited to, Audio connectors, Video connectors, Network connectors and Control connectors
Communicating daily status reports via email and/or
PROCORE Skills and Experience:
A minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in the audio/visual field or a related field
C6 license is required (CT)
The ability and willingness to work overtime as required
Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting basic and integrated audio visual systems
Ability to build racks and read schematics
Technical or BS degree in related field, ICIA CTS Designation (Required)
Extron AV Associate designation
DSP Certifications (Biamp, Polycom Soundstructure, ClearOne, BSS Soundweb)
Basic understanding of Crestron and AMX code
Experience with Crestron Toolbox, SIMPL, NetLinx Studio, etc. Basic Understanding of Network Topology
Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills
Strong Attention to Detail & Processes
Experience with Windows OS and the Microsoft Office Suite preferred
Physical Demands:
Ability to go up and down a ladder repeatedly
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. unassisted
Ability to lift and install product overhead in the ceiling
