950+ Consultants640+ Ph.D.s90+ Disciplines30+ Offices globally Our Opportunity We are currently seeking a Managing Engineer with expertise in ADAS and/or AVs for our Vehicle Engineering Practice in our Farmington Hills, MI office. In this role, you will work as part of a team executing consulting projects that involve the analysis and testing of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS); automated vehicles; vehicle, engine, and component performance (e.g., emissions; fuel economy; noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH); drivability; acceleration; etc.); federal emissions and fuel economy testing; mechanical failures; safety assessments; federal and state regulations; and the design of consumer and industrial products. You will have the opportunity to ultimately develop your own consulting practice and grow professionally within Exponent. You will be responsible for Managing projects from initiation to completion; communicating project updates to other team members, clients, and administrative staff; ensuring that Exponent meets its deadlines and produces exceptional work product; and identifying business development opportunitiesDeveloping and managing client relationshipsProject and cost management on caseworkSetting up and executing various test programs, including full-scale vehicle tests and component or control systems evaluationsContinuing to develop specialized expertise in the automotive field such as the design, performance, and testing of existing or emerging automotive technologyManaging, mentoring, and providing project work for junior consulting staffDeveloping and growing the Vehicle Engineering Practice You will have the following skills and qualifications Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field5+ years of work experience in ADAS, automated vehicles (AVs), and/or vehicle and automotive system design, development, testing, and deploymentPresently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing requiredAbility to generate business and manage client relationshipsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to interact with managers, engineers, non-technical personnel, and clients and present technical topics in a cogent and comprehensible mannerStrong leadership and communication skills and experience mentoring junior staffField and/or lab measurement experience with good hands-on skillsVersatile, team-oriented, willing to work overtime and travel when required Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].
