Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Basic understanding of instrumentation, controls, ability to service, start-up, commission, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repair, troubleshooting, startup, and tuning of customer equipment.
  • Provide timely solutions to electrical, mechanical, and emissions related equipment issues, oversee field work as needed.
  • Perform pre-startup functional check of equipment and related instrumentation, control components, and safety limits and make final adjustments as needed.
  • Control project cost and schedule in DSC and customer's best interest.
  • Provide thorough and high-quality training to customer regarding safe and efficient operation and maintenance of DSC equipment.
  • Provide detailed written reports promptly upon job completion, outlining details of work performed, conclusions, and recommendations including potential for additional equipment maintenance and repair, upgrade, or replacement.
  • Work a varied schedule consisting of multiple customer locations each week to satisfy customer needs.
  • Support burner sales group as needed.
  • Provide technical assistance per system design, documentation, and testing
  • Must complete DSC assigned safety training and customer site safety training as required
  • Other duties as assigned
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND CHARACTERISTICS
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment and ensure proper operation
  • Ability to make sound technical decisions independently
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and technical information
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
  • Ability to supervise others in an industrial environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely around burner equipment
  • Experience working with gas and oil-fired burner systems
  • Customer service skills
  • Support stoker business; gain work experience in boiler and stoker operations
  • Flexibility regarding work schedule and demands of position
  • Support companywide communication and collaboration
