Job Description

Description We are seeking an Electromagnetic Compatibility Test Engineer to support environmental and thermal system validation programs for advanced automotive components. This individual will play a critical role in setting up and executing test procedures focused on coolant (glycol) flow systems, radiator performance, and hose durability. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of testing expertise and electrical/instrumentation experience, with the ability to support complex test setups and deliver accurate, high-quality data to drive engineering decisions.
  • Set up and execute laboratory and environmental test programs involving glycol-based cooling systems
  • Configure and operate flow carts/test benches for fluid flow, pressure, and thermal performance validation
  • Conduct testing on radiators, hoses, and thermal management components to OEM and industry standards
  • Install and troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical systems (sensors, thermocouples, pressure transducers, wiring, DAQ systems)
  • Develop and follow test procedures, ensuring compliance with customer specifications
  • Monitor test performance, collect data, and identify anomalies or issues during execution
  • Analyze test results and generate detailed technical reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support program objectives
  • Troubleshoot test setups, hardware, and data acquisition issues as they arise

Additional Skills & Qualifications Must Haves:
  • 2+ years of experience in automotive testing, lab environments, or validation engineering
  • Experience setting up or executing tests involving fluid systems (coolant, glycol, or thermal loops)
  • Electrical experience with flow carts, pump systems, or fluid circulation test setups
  • Working knowledge of radiator, hose, or cooling system testing
  • Basic to intermediate electrical knowledge, including: Wiring and instrumentation setup, Sensor integration (thermocouples, pressure sensors, flow meters)
  • Experience with data acquisition systems (DAQ) and test instrumentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, and test procedures Would be nice:
  • Experience in thermal management, HVAC, or powertrain cooling systems
  • Familiarity with OEM or industry test standards (SAE, ISO, etc.)
  • Experience with automated test systems or controls
  • Exposure to tools such as: LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar data analysis tools :
MTS, Siemens TestLab, or comparable platforms Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00
