Job Description
Position Summary The Mobile Service Technician performs diagnostic, maintenance, and repair services on customer vehicles and equipment at customer locations, roadside service calls, and other off-site work environments. This position is responsible for providing professional, timely, and high-quality service while maintaining safety standards and representing the company in a positive manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on medium- and heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. Respond to customer locations and roadside service calls as assigned. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and engine-related issues. Complete work orders, service documentation, and required reports accurately and timely. Maintain company-issued service vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition. Communicate repair recommendations, parts requirements, and job status updates to customers and management. Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and applicable industry standards. Maintain a professional appearance and provide exceptional customer service while representing the company in the field. Participate in training and continuing education opportunities as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in varying weather conditions. Minimum of 2 years of experience diagnosing and repairing medium- and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, or related equipment preferred. Working knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, brake systems, hydraulics, air systems, and vehicle diagnostics. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, and repair instructions. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required; CDL preferred or ability to obtain as required. Ability to safely operate company service vehicles and equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a field environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach. Basic computer skills and ability to utilize service software, mobile devices, and electronic work order systems.
