JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW
CJD is seeking an experienced AV Design Consultant to lead the design and consulting efforts for enterprise audiovisual and workplace technology projects. The ideal candidate will possess 7-10 years of experience designing integrated AV systems, including audio, video, control, unified communications, and workplace collaboration technologies for corporate, commercial, and institutional environments. This role will serve as the lead AV designer on complex projects, guiding clients through requirements gathering, system planning, design development, construction documentation, and technology strategy. Candidates with experience working for an AV consulting firm, AV integration company, engineering firm, or technology consulting organization are highly preferred. The position is based primarily out of CJD's Rahway, New Jersey office, with regular travel to client locations for site surveys, meetings, project coordination, and project support activities. In office requirements are flexible, and we will also consider fully remote workers that can travel to client sites as needed. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in both office and client-facing environments and traveling as needed to support project requirements. CTS certification is preferred, with CTS-D strongly desired.
RESPONSIBILITES
Responsible for AV design, including all phases of design and coordination from budgets, conceptual/schematic design through construction documents. Prepare AV/Multimedia designs inclusive of audio, video, and control in support of a broad base of project opportunities Perform site surveys to develop client requirements for AV systems, and develop documentation of new or existing systems Work within a team environment to ensure client standards are met and that all technology systems are incorporated into the overall AV system design Provide design, conceptualization and production management and assist with project delivery to address all aspects of digital networks inclusive of audio, video, control, voice and data, and security systems Serve as a technical resource for others throughout the firm, providing thought leadership and subject matter expertise Research, develop and evaluate emerging technology to maximize the firm's services Assure work products are in adherence with CJD's quality standards Help provide project support where appropriate on all levels of engagement, including pre-sales; proposal development; client administration; relationship building, and management and technical delivery as needed Provide consulting and advice to all aspects of audiovisual systems (AV) and related workplace technologies Guide clients in the development of optimal future/target state AV plans Present clients with needs analysis findings and next steps as it pertains to engagements Communicate the impact of AV technology and industry trends to clients as needed Collaboratively develop client business requirements, formulate solutions and develop business case justifications Help respond to Requests for Proposals (RFP's), translate client requirements to formulate RFP for various vendors
QUALIFICATIONS
Required 7-10 years of experience designing and implementing audiovisual systems. Strong understanding of enterprise AV, video conferencing, and workplace technology solutions. Experience gathering client requirements and developing basis-of-design documentation. Knowledge of AV equipment manufactures, product distribution channels, and procurement processes Experience designing integrated audio, video, control, and collaboration systems. Understanding of architectural and construction drawings as they relate to technology systems. Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and client-facing consulting skills. CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, or other AVIXA certifications. Ability to travel up to 20% within North America. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Architecture, or a related field. Experience working for an AV consulting firm, AV integration company, engineering firm, or technology consulting organization. Manufacturers certifications from Crestron, Cisco, Biamp, Poly, Q-SYS, Extron, or similar platforms. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and construction documentation. Candidates should possess experience in several of the following areas: Enterprise audiovisual system design Unified communications and collaboration technologies Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Webex environments Audio DSP and control systems Digital signage solutions Video wall systems Room scheduling and workplace management technologies IPTV and television distribution systems Corporate boardrooms, conference rooms, training rooms, and collaboration spaces Video conferencing infrastructure and support systems Basic IP networking concepts, including routing, switching, and voice/video transport protocols

Pay:
$110,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
