Electronic Warfare Systems Engineer
  • JOB SUMMARY
    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team at Airbus Defence and Space SAU. This role involves the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced electronic warfare systems for various defense applications, contributing to the protection and operational effectiveness of our platforms.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and participate in the full lifecycle of EW system development, from concept definition and requirements analysis to design, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Develop detailed system architectures, specifications, and interface control documents for EW systems and subsystems.
  • Perform trade studies and analyses to evaluate various EW technologies, techniques, and system configurations.
  • Conduct performance analysis, simulation, and modeling of EW systems to assess effectiveness and optimize design.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of EW components and functionalities.
  • Participate in system-level testing, including ground testing, flight testing, and operational evaluation, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Generate technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of emerging EW technologies, threats, and industry trends to inform future system development.
  • Contribute to proposals and bids for new EW programs and projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the EW domain.
  • SKILLS
  • Bachelor&39;s or Master&39;s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electronic Warfare systems engineering, preferably within the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of EW principles, including Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Electronic Countermeasures (ECM), Electronic Protection (EP), and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT).
  • Proficiency in radar theory, RF propagation, antenna design, and digital signal processing (DSP) concepts.
  • Experience with EW system architectures, sensor technologies, and data fusion techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and military specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810).
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes) and simulation tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
