Job Description

About the Position This position combines electronics troubleshooting, PCB repair, prototype development and manufacturing support. You'll work directly with our engineering, production and customer support teams to diagnose electrical problems, repair boards, test new hardware and help improve the reliability of our products. We're looking for someone who can identify the root cause of a problem, not just replace parts until something works. This is a hands-on position in our Houston manufacturing facility, working with real hardware every day. Key Responsibilities Electronics Troubleshooting & Repair Diagnose and repair electronic circuit boards at the component level. Perform precision soldering, hot-air rework and surface-mount component replacement. Troubleshoot power supplies, MOSFET drivers, microcontrollers and electronic control circuits. Investigate intermittent electrical failures using oscilloscopes, multimeters and other diagnostic equipment. Support production technicians with electrical troubleshooting to minimize manufacturing downtime. Prototype Development & Testing Assemble, modify and test prototype electronic assemblies. Build, modify and troubleshoot wiring harnesses. Program, flash and test PCBs. Assist engineering with new hardware development and prototype validation. Develop and maintain test fixtures, diagnostic tools and production test procedures. Failure Analysis & Quality Improvement Investigate electronic failures reported by manufacturing and customer support. Document failure symptoms, diagnostic findings, root causes and corrective actions. Track recurring failures and recommend improvements. Perform incoming inspection and first-article testing of electronic assemblies. Work with engineering to verify hardware improvements and design revisions. Maintain clear repair documentation and troubleshooting procedures. Required Qualifications At least 3 years of hands-on electronics troubleshooting, PCB repair or related experience, or equivalent technical education and practical experience. Strong soldering and surface-mount rework skills, including fine-pitch components. Experience diagnosing electronic circuits at the component level. Proficiency with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters and bench power supplies. Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, PCB layouts and wiring diagrams. Experience troubleshooting switching power supplies, microcontrollers and electronic drivers. Familiarity with wiring harness assembly, connectors and crimping. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to document technical findings clearly and work collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with embedded electronics, firmware programming or debugging. Familiarity with
RP2040/RP2350
microcontrollers, UART, SWD or similar interfaces. Experience with automated testing, Python or custom test fixtures. Background in industrial electronics, robotics, arcade equipment, amusement devices or electronics manufacturing. Knowledge of electrical safety, EMI/EMC considerations and production quality testing. Pinball repair experience is a plus, but not required. What We're Looking For We want someone who enjoys getting their hands dirty, working at the bench and solving difficult technical problems. The ideal candidate is methodical, curious and takes pride in understanding why something failed and how to prevent it from happening again. You'll be joining a growing American manufacturer where your work has a direct impact on the products we build and the customers who enjoy them.
