Job Description

Aquatomic Products LLC (a division of APM Steam) is a trusted leader in water treatment and quality management, headquartered in Fairfax, VA. We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Lead, hands-on technical professional who bridges advanced engineering expertise with field execution. This role supports complex water testing, diagnostics, and system optimization while serving as a technical authority for field technicians and a key partner to engineering, operations, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Engineering Execution Perform advanced water testing, analysis, and interpretation for commercial and industrial systems (e.g., cooling towers, boilers, closed loops, potable and process water). Diagnose complex water quality issues including corrosion, scaling, microbiological growth, and system inefficiencies. Translate lab results and field data into actionable recommendations and corrective strategies. Support development and refinement of water testing protocols, SOPs, and quality standards. Serve as escalation point for technical challenges beyond technician-level scope. Field Leadership & Client Support Lead on-site technical assessments and high-complexity service calls. Support and mentor Field Service Technicians through training, ride-alongs, and troubleshooting. Communicate technical findings clearly to clients, operations teams, and internal stakeholders. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards. Act as a trusted technical advisor to key client accounts. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Partner with engineering, sales, and operations teams to support system design, service strategy, and client solutions. Contribute field insights to improve testing methods, equipment selection, and data reporting. Assist in evaluating new testing technologies, instruments, and methodologies. Support root-cause investigations and corrective action planning. Qualifications Valid driver's license Ability to work 6:30am-2:30pm Ability to lift and carry 50lbs 3+ years of experience in water treatment, HVAC, plumbing or industrial equipment maintenance Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems related to water treatment Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing pumps, valves, sensors, and control systems Ability to read technical schematics, blueprints, and service manuals
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
