  • Audio Visual Designer Engineer DALY Computers is a system integrator, solution provider, value added reseller, and major service provider focused on serving the IT infrastructure needs of state local governments and education customers.
Our mission for over 38 years is to combine innovative technologies and services to help our clients succeed in their mission goals. The Design Engineer collaborates with Sales and Integration teams to design AV solutions that meet customer needs. This role develops system designs, drawings, and accurate bills of materials (BOMs), while determining equipment, pricing, and labor requirements to support project success and customer expectations. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (however sometimes overtime and/or weekend hours may be required). Local travel consists of the
DC/MD/VA
areas. All candidates must pass a comprehensive background and drug screening. Daly is a drug-free workplace. This position also requires reliable transportation, clean driving record, a valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.
Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Work with Sales to determine customer needs and expectations from simple to complex system designs.
  • Develop basic data and preliminary layouts/sketches necessary to present design proposals to customers.
  • Design new systems and equipment configurations for huddle spaces, training rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, boardrooms and any other customer area requirements.
  • Develop Bid Specifications.
  • Determine detailed schematic diagrams, cost analyses and job-related labor.
  • Responsible for generating comprehensive project description and State of Work, List of Materials, Drawings, etc.
  • Provide additional documentation as required per project that may include page layouts, program files, AutoCAD drawings, etc.
  • Participate in Project Review at the conclusion of the assignment.
  • Develop Change Orders when needed in conjunction with Project Manager for product changes, job enhancements, additions, etc. Obtain proper approval on all Change Orders.
  • Ensure as-built documentation and Change Orders are complete and accurate.
  • R&D of new products that can improve our offering to our clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) years of engineering experience in AV/Broadcasting design.
  • Industry certifications such as
CTS, CTS-D, BICSI.
  • Possess excellent project management and time management skills.
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders and on lifts as required.
  • Ability to read and write schematics and architectural drawings.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues at a functional and strategic level.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturers such as: Creston, Extron, Biamp, Z-Band, Panasonic.

$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
