Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking an AV Engineer to support a government customer based in McLean, VA . This position is a full‑time, onsite role supporting mission‑critical, multi‑classification environments. The AV Engineer will play a key role in designing, integrating, testing, and commissioning secure audiovisual systems in high‑stakes cleared facilities, working closely with customers, facilities teams, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Survey, plan, design, configure, and test multi‑classification audiovisual solutions tailored for government customers. Create custom AV system designs, including DSP layouts, control system logic, and overall system configurations. Participate in customer stakeholder meetings to gather, document, and validate system requirements. Research, evaluate, and recommend AV technologies and architectures to meet customer needs and security requirements. Prepare detailed system engineering documentation, including: Signal flow diagrams Line diagrams Bills of materials (BOMs) Rack elevations Cable plant layouts Support and lead onsite AV system installations, configuration, and integration activities. Collaborate closely with customer facility teams, subcontractors, and vendors during installation and commissioning. Assist in developing end‑user training materials and operations & maintenance (O&M) documentation. Conduct thorough in‑house testing and perform on‑site system commissioning at customer locations. Continuously enhance industry knowledge through training, certifications, and review of relevant trade publications.

Active
TS/SCI U.S.
Security Clearance with a current Counterintelligence Polygraph (CIP) Willingness to upgrade from CIP to Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) or already possess a current FSP Experience with large‑scale audiovisual system design, installation, configuration, and support Experience coordinating or leading schedule‑driven tasks Experience directly interfacing with customers in professional or cleared environments Compensation to

Labor Categories based on experience Level 1: $90,000
  • $140,000 Level 2: $140,000
  • $170,000 Level 3: $170,000
  • $210,000
