Job Description

NexTech Solutions (NTS) is a team of experts and engineers who understand the challenges that organizations face in finding and implementing the best technologies and IT solutions to meet mission requirements. We work with our government customers in defense and civilian agencies to identify new technologies. The Opportunity The Technical Specialist provides direct, hands-on technical support to program customers, supporting the installation, testing, and maintenance of fixed-site and mobile Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. This role is critical to mission success and represents the primary field presence of the program. Technical Specialists are expected to deploy frequently (approximately 60% of the year) to support mission requirements in high-risk environments and must be adaptable, technically proficient, and capable of operating independently in dynamic and challenging conditions. Key Responsibilities (•Essential Functions) Install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot EW systems at fixed sites and on mobile platforms Perform RF diagnostics and system validation using technical test equipment Support integration of EW systems with power, communications, and antenna subsystems Conduct installation and maintenance of antennas, radios, and associated infrastructure including tower systems Perform hands-on work with vehicle mechanical and electrical systems for system integration Provide on-site technical support to end users and mission personnel; document maintenance activities, system performance, and field reports Supervisory Responsibilities May provide technical guidance to analyst Fluency in English (written and spoken) Active TS/SCI security clearance required with ability to obtain a CI Poly, active CI Poly candidates will have preference Education High School Diploma required Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred Required Skills, Experience & Abilities Minimum 1 year of experience supporting technical programs and requirements Minimum 3 years of technical electronics testing and maintenance experience; OR minimum 3 years of experience with vehicle mechanical and electrical systems; OR minimum 3 years of experience installing and maintaining antennas, power equipment, and radios on communications towers Willingness and ability to deploy up to 60% annually to high-risk environments including hostile, denied, and conflict zones Ability to operate effectively in austere and high-tempo operational conditions Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Electronic Warfare (EW) systems including fixed and mobile platforms Prior experience in foreign field operations (hostile, austere, or denied environments) FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License Prior military experience Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Adaptability and ability to work independently in dynamic environments Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to operate effectively under minimal supervision Willingness to learn new tools or procedures Positive attitude toward safety and following protocols in high-risk environments Problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset Physical Demands & Work Environment The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Ability to stand, crouch, climb, and work in confined or elevated spaces for extended periods Home base in Northern Virginia; frequent international deployment (approximately 60% of the year). Frequent interaction with clients, executives, and government officials in both in-person and virtual settings. Serve as a forward-facing representative of the program in operational environments. Ensure compliance with safety, operational, and security protocols in high-risk areas. Work may occasionally be performed in secure government facilities, requiring adherence to security protocols. This position may involve travel to government test sites, training ranges, and operational locations, including potential OCONUS destinations for short periods of time. Work may be conducted in laboratory, workshop, office, and field environments with varying conditions.
