Full-time Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking an AV Design Engineer 3 for a leading client in the security and electronic systems industry. This candidate will play a key role in designing and engineering complex, large-scale AV and integrated technology systems across multiple high-impact projects. The engineer will be responsible for architecting end-to-end AV solutions, developing system drawings and specifications, and ensuring all designs meet performance and stakeholder requirements. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and clients, supporting system implementation, testing, and optimization while also contributing to technical leadership and mentoring within the engineering team.
Day-to-Day:
Design and architect complex AV systems and integrated solutions Create CAD drawings, system schematics, and bill of materials Support multiple projects across programs, providing technical direction Conduct site surveys and gather operational/technical requirements Design, test, and troubleshoot AV, networking, and telecom systems Develop system test plans and perform acceptance testing Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Provide technical training to end users and administrators Assist with project scoping, budgeting, and cost estimation
Must-Haves:
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related + 5+ years (or Master's + 3+ years) Experience designing and implementing complex A/V systems (videoconferencing, control systems, displays, audio systems) Hands-on experience with Crestron, AMX, and/or Extron control systems Ability to create CAD drawings and Bill of Materials (AutoCAD or similar) Experience with IP/networking and telecommunications systems Ability to gather requirements, perform site surveys, and support solution costing Strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and electrical design plans Experience developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures Strong communication skills (working with stakeholders/executive leadership) Ability to obtain Top Secret DoD Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) Ability to travel up to 20%
