Job Title:
Power Electronics Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Power Electronics Engineer to innovate and develop next-generation power electronics for solar, energy storage, EV charging, and test applications. Responsibilities + Develop high-frequency bidirectional DC-DC converters, AC-DC grid-tie inverters, and resonant converters. + Lead projects from concept to productization, ensuring innovative solutions and designs. + Create and implement digital control algorithms and innovative magnetics. + Collaborate closely with PCB layout designers to develop high-density power designs. + Work in tandem with mechanical designers to enhance product design, including sheet metal, heatsinks, and bus bars. + Achieve UL & CE compliance for various products and lead EMC compliance activities. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. + Strong experience in power electronics design and solid understanding of basic physics and electronics. + Proficiency in high frequency power stages, filtering, circuit protection, thermal and EMI/EMC considerations. + Strong skills in Matlab, Simulink, and Sim-power Systems. + At least 2 years of related experience with power electronics and control systems design. + Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse professionals. + Ability to work independently, multitask, and consistently meet deadlines. + Strong process orientation and problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Master's Degree in power electronics with over 5 years of industry experience in power converter development. + Experience in design, testing, and debugging of DC-DC or 3-phase AC-DC converters with voltage range 400-900V and power levels over 2kW. + Experience with power semiconductor parts, cooling mechanisms, passive components, protection circuits, and sensing circuits. + Understanding of PCB layout design for high voltages and familiarity with UL1741 standards. + Familiarity with safety/EMI standards for power converter systems and EMC requirements and filter design. + Understanding of hardware-mechanical and hardware-software interfaces. + Experience in a power-electronics and industrial packaging manufacturing environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
