Job Description

Overview Headquartered in Washington, D.C., Banyan Global is an international development consulting firm with expertise in economic growth, infrastructure development, and international trade and investment. Banyan Global is recruiting an analyst for the upcoming Indo-Pacific Energy and Critical Minerals Definitional Mission. The Analyst will support the project team in identifying and evaluating energy and critical minerals infrastructure opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region. The Analyst will conduct market research, assist with project screening, and contribute to the preparation of Definitional Mission deliverables required by USTDA. The period of performance is up to 36 months contingent on funding. Responsibilities Conduct market and sector research on energy and critical minerals infrastructure in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Pacific Islands. Support screening and evaluation of proposed infrastructure projects against USTDA funding criteria, including development impact, financing potential, and U.S. export opportunities. Assist in preparing Preliminary Assessments of proposed projects, including background research, stakeholder analysis, and identification of key risks and information gaps. Support preparation of Project Reports, including drafting sections on market context, project description, implementation considerations, and potential U.S. industry participation. Compile data and background materials related to project sponsors, financing options, regulatory frameworks, and sector trends. Support outreach and coordination with U.S. companies, project sponsors, and other stakeholders to gather relevant project information. Assist with logistics, research, and documentation related to Scoping Missions, including preparation of briefing materials and meeting summaries. Support preparation of deliverables Maintain project tracking tools and budget. Qualifications Required Qualifications 2-5 years of experience in infrastructure, development finance, trade analysis, or project evaluation experience supporting feasibility studies, technical assistance, or project preparation activities Strong organizational and data analysis skills with proficiency in Excel Experience conducting market and regulatory research Strong writing and documentation skills in English Preferred Experience in Southeast Asia, South Asia and or the Pacific Islands Familiarity with infrastructure sectors such as energy systems, mining, critical minerals supply chains, or related industries Familiarity with USTDA, MDB, DFC, Ex-Im, or commercial infrastructure financing
