Bureau Veritas is seeking a Building Performance & Energy Assessor to perform energy audits, and building performance evaluations for commercial, institutional, municipal, and multifamily properties. This role combines hands-on building assessments with energy and sustainability analysis to identify deficiencies, energy and water conservation opportunities, capital needs, and operational improvements. The Assessor conducts on-site evaluations, analyzes building systems and utility data, performs energy benchmarking and modeling, develops planning-level recommendations and cost estimates, and prepares technical reports that support clients' capital planning, asset management, sustainability, decarbonization, and Net Zero goals. Residential-only experience does not meet the experience requirement. Key Responsibilities Perform ASHRAE Level I-III Energy Audits, accessibility assessments, mechanical evaluations, and building performance assessments. Conduct physical surveys of accessible architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roofing, building envelope, site, lighting, and controls systems. Evaluate HVAC, BAS/BEMS, lighting, plumbing, and other building systems to identify deferred maintenance, capital replacement needs, operational deficiencies, and energy-saving opportunities. Perform

benchmarking, carbon benchmarking, Statements of Energy Performance (SEP), utility allowance studies, and related building performance analyses. Identify energy and water conservation measures and calculate projected savings, lifecycle costs, ROI, and payback. Perform building energy modeling using eQUEST, DesignBuilder, TREAT, Trane TRACE, Wrightsoft, RemRate, or comparable platforms. Review drawings, maintenance records, utility data, repair histories, warranties, prior assessments, energy studies, and capital improvement documentation. Develop planning-level repair, replacement, energy improvement, and capital expenditure recommendations, including cost estimates. Prepare clear, technically accurate reports documenting findings, deficiencies, energy opportunities, recommendations, and capital planning needs. Support client initiatives related to sustainability, ESG reporting, decarbonization, and Net Zero planning. Collaborate with internal engineering and technical teams on multidisciplinary assessment projects. Maintain required productivity, report quality, safety, confidentiality, and client service standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Construction Management, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science , or a related technical field plus 3+ years of relevant experience ; OR 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in facility assessments, energy auditing, commissioning, building performance, or related technical consulting in lieu of a degree. Experience assessing commercial, institutional, municipal, or multifamily buildings is required. Strong understanding of commercial building systems, energy performance, capital planning, and facility assessment methodologies. Knowledge of ASHRAE energy auditing principles, BAS/BEMS, utility benchmarking, and building performance analysis . Strong analytical, technical writing, problem-solving, and client communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field/data collection technology, including tablets. Experience with Quire , or comparable assessment/capital planning software is preferred.
