The Senior Business Analyst will support the implementation of a new Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platform, helping transition from a legacy system to OATI while ensuring accurate energy settlements, financial reconciliation, and end-to-end business process functionality.

Responsibilities:

Gather and document business requirements, functional specifications, and current- and future-state process flows. Support ETRM implementation activities across front-, middle-, and back-office energy trading operations. Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts for system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and parallel testing. Compare legacy system outputs against the new platform to validate settlements, invoices, financial data, and transaction accuracy. Investigate defects, identify root causes, document issues, and coordinate resolutions with technical and business teams. Validate data conversions, interfaces, integrations, and accounting/GL feeds. Support trade settlements, ISO/RTO settlements, PPA settlements, invoicing, AP/AR, accruals, adjustments, and reconciliation processes. Partner with Trading, Finance, Accounting, Settlements, and IT stakeholders to ensure the new platform meets business needs. Develop procedures and training materials and support cutover, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization.

Minimum Requirements:

5 years of experience in energy trading, energy settlements, energy accounting, ETRM systems, or energy market operations. Experience supporting an ETRM implementation, system replacement, migration, or major upgrade. Strong understanding of the energy trading lifecycle, including settlements, invoicing, accruals, financial reconciliation, and accounting processes. Hands-on experience gathering requirements, documenting workflows, developing test scripts, executing UAT, and supporting parallel testing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate discrepancies and validate large volumes of data. Experience working across business and technical teams to resolve issues and deliver system improvements. Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with OATI/webTrader or other ETRM platforms such as Adapt2, ION Allegro, or Endur. Experience in wholesale power markets, renewable energy, power purchase agreements (PPAs), or energy market settlements. Familiarity with ISO/RTO markets such as ERCOT, PJM, MISO, or SPP. Experience with ETRM integrations, data conversion, accounting interfaces, and financial controls. Experience supporting month-end close, settlement reconciliations, and production go-live activities.
