Job Description

Job Description Day to Day Insight Global is looking for someone to join a national engineering firm as a Power Distribution Designer in Asheville, NC. The ideal candidate will work with residential and commercial clients to design outdoor lighting solutions that meet company standards. Develops designs for electrical distribution systems, including overhead/underground circuits, lighting, and residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Requires technical proficiency, accurate field data collection, and the ability to work indecently on moderately complex projects. May also support storm restoration efforts and collaborate with clients and construction crews. This position involves both office and significant field work, often in challenging weather, and environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Create electric distribution design drawings and Bills of Material (BOM). Collect and inspect field data using standard tools and methods. Learn and apply technical calculations (e.g., voltage drop, transformer loading, pole loading). Understand and follow client standards, workflows, and charging guidelines. Prepare permits and supporting project documentation. Identify and mitigate hazards in both office and field environments. Promote safety awareness and participate in safety meetings. Serve on storm response teams as an Assessor or Team Lead Learner.
