Description Position Summary:
Reporting to the Energy Solutions Manager, the Interconnection and Energy Solutions Coordinator supports the processing and advancement of interconnection and energy solutions applications (e.g., solar, wind, hydro, battery, and other distributed energy resources) and works closely with the Interconnection Specialist to ensure applications are accurate, complete, and progressing efficiently through the interconnection process. The Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for members, providing clear, timely communication regarding application status, required next steps, and outstanding items. This role is focused on delivering an excellent member experience by helping applicants navigate the interconnection process, reducing delays caused by incomplete or inaccurate submissions, and ensuring consistent, well documented communication aligned with NHEC's strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Support the timely advancement of interconnection and energy solutions applications by reviewing submissions for completeness, accuracy, and required documentation prior to and during formal processing. Communicate directly with members, developers, and contractors to explain application requirements, notify applicants of missing or incomplete information, and provide guidance on next steps in the interconnection process. Serve as a primary point of contact for member inquiries related to application status, timelines, and required actions, ensuring applicants understand where they are in the process and what is needed to move forward. Coordinate closely with the Interconnection Specialist to support application workflow, resolve documentation issues, and ensure smooth handoffs between review, study, and approval phases. Track and maintain accurate application status information in NISC's Connect, iVue, CIS, or other applicable systems, ensuring records are current, complete, and well documented. Assist with the management and exchange of required interconnection documentation (e.g., applications, drawings, agreements, certificates of completion, permissions to operate) between members, developers, and internal teams. Participates in onboarding with Member Solutions and Consumer Accounting to understand Co-op best practices in member service and billing. Participates in regular education and training initiatives with these departments. Support internal coordination by facilitating communication between Energy Solutions, Engineering, Operations, Line Design, Construction Services, Consumer Accounting, Member Solutions, and Power Resources as needed to advance applications. Time permitting, helps to supports other Energy Solutions Program Managers with member service phone calls, emails, and other communication to ensure timely and high quality member engagement. Help ensure payments, deposits, and required forms are submitted by applicants in a timely manner by proactively communicating requirements and following up on outstanding items. Provide members with general information related to energy solutions programs, interconnection requirements, and available resources, escalating technical or regulatory questions to the Interconnection Specialist as appropriate. Ensure application processing and communications comply with NHEC procedures, program requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring application issues, communication gaps, or process inefficiencies and sharing feedback with the Energy Solutions team. As needed, assist with member outreach, program communications, or presentations related to interconnection and energy solutions offerings.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. 2 years of experience in customer service, utility operations support, energy programs, project coordination, or a related administrative or technical support role. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple applications and priorities simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally with members, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and comfort working with enterprise systems and databases. Attention to detail and ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, energy, environmental studies, engineering technology, or a related field. Familiarity with distributed energy resources (DERs), net metering, or utility interconnection processes. Experience working with utility customer information systems (CIS), interconnection platforms, GIS, or workflow management tools. Experience working in cross functional teams and supporting technical or regulatory processes.

Employees will be assigned functions to support power restoration and for some employees that may be different from their normal duties. Such assistance may require working nights, weekends and holidays which may involve considerable extra hours. In order to meet this working condition, all employees are required to provide a personal phone number where they may be reached after hours. This number will only be used for internal purposes. Working Conditions:
Normal office conditions, occasional overtime may be required. Some day-to-day travel within the utility system required. Occasional overnight travel. Positions eligible for a hybrid work schedule will be dependent upon management approval & workload, however on-site office work in the Plymouth, NH area will be required. Will be required to work long hours on occasions, especially during major system outages. Limited travel required in the performance of work responsibilities and representing NHEC at various professional and association meetings. ADA physical and environmental factors. COMPENSATION
NHEC views compensation in a holistic and transparent manner. The target salary range for this position is $65,143 - $73,400 with anticipated pay for new hires between the entry and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of NHEC's total compensation package for employees.
