Simulation and Software Engineer Job Description Join our innovative team to design, develop, and implement high-quality software and simulation toolchains for missile flight systems. You will play a crucial role in developing autopilot and guidance algorithms and integrating them into missile flight code. Collaborate with software and hardware teams to enhance vehicle flight software and utilize trajectory-optimization tools to analyze vehicle trajectories. Responsibilities Design, develop, implement, verify, and test high‑quality software and simulation toolchains for missile flight systems. Develop and integrate autopilot and guidance algorithms directly into missile flight code. Collaborate with software and hardware teams to seamlessly incorporate algorithms into the vehicle's flight software. Utilize various trajectory‑optimization tools to generate, interpret, and analyze vehicle trajectory results. Modify or create new scripts (e.g., Python, MATLAB) to capture customer requirements and measure vehicle performance. Build, validate, and maintain modeling and simulation frameworks for aerospace vehicles and components. Enhance simulation fidelity by integrating advanced modeling techniques for system analysis. Perform rigorous testing and evaluation of simulation models, identifying and resolving discrepancies. Gather, post‑process, and analyze large, complex data sets to verify and validate performance results. Ensure that simulation outcomes match intended performance metrics and system specifications. Essential Skills Experience with autopilot algorithms and vehicle dynamics. Proficiency in GNC for missiles or rockets. Experience developing autopilot algorithms and vehicle dynamics. Competency in running high-fidelity 6DOF/3DOF simulations on HPC clusters. Proficiency in C++, Python, MATLAB, and experience with SLRUM, PBS, and CI/CD Pipelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree or an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree. Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, current and within scope. Professional or internship or military experience with vehicle dynamics and developing autopilot algorithms. Working knowledge of 6DOF - degrees of freedom, written in C++. Experience in GNC algorithms for hypersonic missiles, IR discrimination, and tracking. Experience creating CI/CD Pipelines and automating simulation runs and post processing. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chandler, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
