Engineer III (Hybrid Detroit, MI)
Pay Rate:
$50/hour
Employment Type:
Long-term contract with potential for extension or direct hire
Position Summary:
Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Engineer III to plan, coordinate, and execute complex engineering projects within a dynamic, team-driven environment. This senior-level role requires both strong technical expertise and practical field experience to address challenging engineering problems, implement innovative solutions, and lead project initiatives that support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute engineering studies and analyses to address complex technical challenges Plan and direct major projects or field assignments involving advanced design and operational componentsDevelop and improve models, tools, and methodologies to enhance reliability, efficiency, and performanceProvide technical direction and mentorship to teams of field employees, technicians, and other engineersPropose engineering solutions and support continuous improvement initiatives across multiple programsDeliver data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology Minimum 4 years of professional engineering experience in a relevant disciplineProven ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneouslyProficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and WordStrong analytical, written, and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Engineering or related disciplineExperience maintaining State Estimator technical applicationsFamiliarity with Energy Management System (EMS) operations, including State Estimator (SE), Contingency Analysis (CA), and N-1 conditionsWorking knowledge of PSSE or TARA applicationsAbility to provide operational feedback and improve EMS system models using real-time measurement data
