Job Description

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform technician engineering work, inspecting the construction of new development or public works projects. The work responsibilities involve supervising one employee, reviewing construction site plans, and making on-site inspections of developers' sites and various other engineering structures; corresponding with various consultants and design engineers; assisting citizens in resolving their complaints against the city; coordinating with utility companies and State agencies; and supervising and inspecting the work of employees. The employee reports directly to the City Engineer. High school diploma or a GED, and at least five (5) years of engineering experience, including reviewing construction site plans and the inspection of construction sites.
