Quality Manager Job Description The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining and continually improving the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure full compliance with customer, regulatory, and aerospace standards. This role leads the development, implementation, and enhancement of quality systems and procedures that support manufacturing operations, supplier quality management, documentation control, training, and auditing. The Quality Manager oversees all aspects of quality control, drives a strong culture of quality throughout the organization, and ensures that all products and associated documentation shipped to customers meet drawing requirements and specifications. - Experience working with Suppliers for corrective Actions Responsibilities Maintain and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards across the organization. Serve as the primary focal point for customer audits, including coordination, response, and implementation of corrective actions. Plan, perform, and lead internal audits, assign corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness. Participate in customer-required PPAPs, PFMEAs, and process flow chart development to support new and existing products. Support Engineering Investigation Reports by providing quality expertise, data, and analysis. Develop and deliver quality department training as needed to ensure consistent application of procedures and standards. Maintain and control inspection stamp processes to ensure traceability and compliance. Maintain the approved supplier list and ensure suppliers meet quality and regulatory requirements. Track and manage supplier audit programs and supplier non-conformances, including corrective and preventive actions. Manage various quality-related projects as needed to support business and customer requirements. Supervise quality control operations to achieve production, cost of quality, and safety objectives. Ensure quality standards are met for raw materials, work in process, outside processing, and finished products. Provide clear work direction, coaching, and support for inspection staff and other quality personnel. Process non-conforming material reports (NCMRs) to suppliers and follow up on disposition and corrective actions. Support contract review for quality clauses (Q-Clauses) and ensure requirements are understood and implemented. Drive continuous improvement of department operations, processes, and documentation. Ensure all products and associated paperwork shipping to customers meet drawing requirements, specifications, and applicable standards. Drive a culture of quality throughout the organization, acting as an on-the-floor manager visible and engaged in daily operations. Visit supplier sites as needed to support audits, resolve quality issues, and strengthen supplier relationships. Develop the quality department structure, assess current capabilities, and plan for future staffing, including hiring a quality engineer. Perform other related duties as required and assigned to support business and customer needs. Work Environment This role is based in a mid-sized manufacturing environment that operates with a close-knit, family-oriented culture and offers the opportunity to contribute as a member of the leadership team. The facility runs a single shift, with standard hours from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Quality Manager works primarily on the manufacturing floor, closely engaging with production, inspection, and support teams to oversee day-to-day quality operations. The environment includes aerospace manufacturing processes, inspection activities, and coordination with suppliers, including occasional onsite visits to supplier facilities when necessary. The role involves working with inspection equipment, calibration processes, and quality tools such as SPC, MSA, PFMEA, and process flow charts. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is frequent, and the position offers the opportunity to build and develop the quality department over time. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $150000.00/yr. they will go higher in pay if needed for the right candidate, health, dental, vision, 401K Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Burbank,CA.
