Job Summary:
Millennium-Space Systems is looking for a Space Portfolio Mission Director who will ensure the overall portfolio's mission success by leading each program through integration with the ground segment, launch preparation and on-orbit operations. This position requires knowledge and oversight of multiple engineering disciplines, ability to adapt to changing timelines and communication with multiple stakeholders, customers and partners.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, track and update schedules and baselines of each of the portfolio's programs Coordinate the portfolio's integration schedules and activities with the Company leadership, internal team leaders and external customers, partners and stakeholders. Own each program's contractual responsibilities starting at delivery of hardware, continuing through launch and ending at vehicle disposal Establish, manage and lead teams of direct reports and matrixed support personnel in accomplishing portfolio objectives Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements Establishes Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) program goals and establishes a PMBP improvement plan Oversee the integration of space portfolio space vehicles to their host vehicles and launch vehicles Manage the integration of space programs into their respective ground systems Coordinate, manage and oversee system tests, including pre-launch and on-orbit testing Ensure space portfolio space vehicles are ready to deploy, operate and satisfy mission objectives Ensure space programs are ready to conduct launch, on-orbit and mission operations Manage the overall operations of on-orbit space portfolio vehicles This position's internal job code is Program Management Specialist. Our team is currently hiring for level L. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance with eligibility for SCI is required pre-start. This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Requirements:
(Required Skills/Experience): 20+ years of Spaceflight Mission Operations experience 10+ years previous experience in project management or leadership roles This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) : Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace or systems engineering or related technical engineering field Master's degree in aerospace, aeronautical or related engineering degree and 18+ years of experience Previous experience with Department of Defense, Department of War, USAF or USSF acquisition programs Demonstrated experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners and customers (internal & external) 10+ years previous experience with overseeing the integration of aerospace vehicles with software-intensive command and control systems 10+ years previous experience with the management of assembly, integration and/or testing of aerospace vehicles or systems of comparable complexity 10+ years previous experience operating or managing the operations of remote-piloted aerospace vehicles

This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance.
