Job Description
A growing environmental construction and field services organization in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Head of Construction Development to help expand its heavy civil, site work, and remedial construction services. This is an exciting senior leadership opportunity for a seasoned, client-facing construction professional who wants the smaller-company feel, strong executive influence, and ability to shape long-term growth while working with a supportive team that values culture, recognition, and work-life balance. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Head of Construction Development position include: 20+ years of progressive experience in construction, environmental, civil services, heavy civil/site work, or remedial construction Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, environmental science, earth science, or a related field preferred but not required Lead business development efforts, identify growth opportunities, develop pursuit strategies, and strengthen long-term client, consultant, and subcontractor relationships Provide strategic guidance on cost estimating, proposal development, RFP responses, and technical approaches for new business opportunities Serve as a senior client-facing leader while supporting repeat business, market visibility, conferences, trade shows, and industry association engagement Oversee project planning and execution, including preconstruction submittals, purchase orders, subcontractor task orders, budgets, financial performance, utilization forecasting, and resource planning Mentor professional and field staff while collaborating with executive leadership on long-term construction strategy, staffing, organizational planning, service offerings, and market positioning Must be within driving distance of San Francisco Bay Area jobsites, with a valid California Driver's License, clean driving record, and ability to meet pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screening, and background check requirements
Salary:
$190,000 - $220,000 per year, commensurate with experience.Benefits :
