Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented Manager 2 - Systems Engineering. This leadership position is located in Redondo Beach, CA.

This role is broadly divided into 2 parts: approximately 25 functional management role and approximately 75 direct charge program role.

Responsibilities Include the

Following:

Lead a section of systems engineers (15-20 personnel)

Instruct, mentor and champion agile concepts and processes

Be responsible for hiring, development, training, and retention of section talent. Hiring will include university and experienced hiring. Provide leadership and direction to team members and manage employee performance (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers)

Responsible for day-to-day operation of the organization including employee movement and balancing of resources among programs, and resolving critical/urgent program/technical issues.

Promote the professional development of the Systems Engineering team and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a Bachelors of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and at least 9 years of combined professional / military technical and management experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and at least 7 years of combined professional / military technical and management experience.

Must have experience in at least one of the following areas: Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Mission Integration or Model Based Systems Engineering

Must have experience leading an engineering team or project

Must have experience working with

AGILE/SCRUM

Master, MBSE with

CAMEO, DODAF 2.0

Must have experience working with AFSIM Modeling and SIM

Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

Must have experience working in a SAP/SAR environment.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Functional Management Experience

Engineering Management Experience

Agile project management (manage & prioritize workflow)

Ability and desire to provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports

Active US Government Top Secret clearance with SSBI, or Active DoD Top Secret with SCI within 4 years of last investigation

Program access to all major NGAS programs.

Primary Level Salary Range:

$161,100.00 - $241,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.



Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
