Job Description

The Design/Drafting Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising the design and drafting functions supporting Fluid Motion Control (FMC) and Environmental Control System (ECS) products at ITT's Valencia location. This role combines people leadership with technical oversight to ensure design and drafting outputs align with business needs, product requirements, and regulatory standards. The position is accountable for developing team capability, maintaining high-quality engineering documentation, enforcing design and drafting standards (including GD&T), and supporting configuration management activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer requirements. Leadership & People Management Supervise and lead a team of designers and drafters, providing daily direction, coaching, and support Drive talent development through training, mentoring, and career growth planning Conduct performance management activities including goal setting, feedback, and performance evaluations Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team culture Design & Drafting Oversight Ensure design and drafting deliverables meet business needs, program timelines, and quality expectations Oversee the creation and maintenance of engineering drawings, models, and documentation for FMC and ECS products Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of technical data packages Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, project, and quality teams to support product development and production Process & Standards Compliance Enforce adherence to design and drafting standards, processes, and procedures Ensure proper application of GD&T principles in accordance with company and industry standards Drive continuous improvement initiatives in drafting quality, efficiency, and tool utilization Maintain accountability for drawing release accuracy and revision control Configuration Management & Compliance Support configuration management activities, including document control and change management processes Support compliance activities with respect to regulatory requirements such as REACH, RoHS, and other applicable standards Coordinate and support responses to customer and regulatory configuration requests Partner with quality, compliance, and engineering teams to ensure proper documentation and traceability Business Support Align design/drafting resources and priorities with business and program needs Support proposal and program planning activities as required Identify risks and provide solutions to ensure successful execution of engineering deliverables Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience in Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field. Will consider candidates with Associate's degree plus 7 years of experience in Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field. Significant experience in design/drafting, preferably in aerospace, fluid control, or related industries Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent) FEA simulation experience is required Familiarity with configuration management and regulatory compliance (REACH, RoHS, etc.) Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving skills, and emotional intelligence Experience with leadership and team development Demonstrated technical drawing and GD&T expertise Process discipline and continuous improvement mindset Proven cross-functional collaboration and execution capabilities This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
