of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, was incorporated in 1969. It is a General Law City with a Council/Manager form of government. Simi Valley encompasses an area of 41.7 square miles and is located in the southeast portion of Ventura County. POSITION DETAILS
Salary Range from $53.63 to $68.97 hourly + Excellent Benefits 3% Cost of Living Adjustment increase effective 6/28/27 3% Cost of Living Adjustment increase effective 6/26/28 Generally, salary placement is at the beginning of the salary range. Advanced placement may be granted depending on related education and experience.
NOTE:
The City recently completed a compensation study comparing its salary ranges with those of other local agencies. As a result, 87% of salary ranges will be adjusted upward at various intervals. As ranges are adjusted, job postings will be updated to reflect these changes. Full-time, regular position 9/80 work schedule with alternating Friday off
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or architecture with specialized course work related to area of assignment.
Experience:
Four years of professional engineering experience related to area of assignment including one year of administrative and/or lead supervisory responsibility.
License or Certificate:
Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will possess the following: Ability to lead complex CIP engineering projects involving planning, design, construction, and inspection of major water infrastructure projects. Strong project management skills with initiative, accountability, and the ability to manage multiple assignments independently. Ability to prepare and maintain hydraulic models to support system analysis, planning, and design recommendations. Ability to review and evaluate engineering drawings, designs, and technical submittals for accuracy, compliance, and constructability. Ability to ensure regulatory compliance by updating District standards, preparing permitting documents, and reviewing projects for adherence to codes and policies. Ability to conduct technical studies and prepare clear, well‑organized staff reports for presentation to City Council. Ability to supervise and mentor engineering staff, including engineers and engineering technicians, while fostering teamwork and professional growth. Ability to collaborate effectively with external partners such as contractors, developers, and other agencies to ensure proposed facilities meet District needs and standards. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, including responding to public inquiries and providing technical guidance.
