ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER
(Truckee, CA) Truckee Donner PUD is a not-for-profit, community owned utility governed by locally elected Board of Directors. Headquartered in historic Truckee, CA, in the incomparably beautiful Lake Tahoe Region, the Truckee Donner PUD is one of the most stable and progressive utility districts anywhere. With roots dating to 1927, the PUD provides sustainable, reliable, and high-quality water and electric services to over 13,000 electric customers and over 12,500 water customers in greater Truckee, a service area of 45.5 square miles. About the Position The Electric Engineering Manager, under the general leadership of the Electric Utility Director, performs engineering and planning for the District's electrical system. This position performs difficult work on highly technical problems and participates in the formulation and enforcement of District policies, standards and specifications. This position leads the personnel and operations of the Engineering Department. Electric Department The electric operations department is responsible for operating, maintaining, repairing and expanding our electric distribution system. The department has a responsibility to provide effective and efficient maintenance and replacement programs and to provide effective, efficient and safe operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination equivalent to education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Education:
Graduation from an ABET accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), with an emphasis on power systems.
Experience:
Equivalent of six years of increasing responsibility in utilities or consulting engineering experience relating to electric utility planning and operations with emphasis on design, construction, and operation of electrical distribution systems.
License:
This position is required to possess registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer with the State of CA or obtain registration within one year by comity application if their registration is held in another state.
