Responsibilities:
- Serve as functional leader for the Propulsion Design team which is responsible for initial layouts, detail design, drawing creation, and production support for a variety of earth orbiting, cislunar, and interplanetary programs.
- Provide expertise in support of proposals and other propulsion team initiatives.
- Mentor and develop technical talent in collaboration with the Propulsion, Energetics & Life Support Talent Center (PELS TC) functional organization.
- Be involved in staff planning for the propulsion team, including creation and filling of assignments in Vemo, and utilization of the staffing planning tools available for internal workforce planning activities.
- Ensure Lockheed Martin's standard technical processes and tools, best practices, and training are available, appropriately tailored, and properly implemented on various programs.
- Identify gaps and fragile skill areas within the team, and develop plans for knowledge transfer and skill development to resolve skill deficiencies.
- Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams.
- Familiarity with preliminary and detailed design for propulsion systems including the piping and harness tool in CREO. Understanding of basic and advanced modeling techniques.
- Extensive understanding of ASME standards including:
ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.100.
- A Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance; US citizenship is required
- Desired Skills
- High level of accountability and a proven track record of meeting commitments.
- Experience in a design centric environment
- Experience leading product design, production, or test on propulsion development programs.
- Experience with machining techniques, DFx, and support of a production environment.
- Active Top Secret security clearance. Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
- Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range:
