A Manufacturing Engineering Manager oversees engineering and technical design of manufacturing engineering projects, such as optimizing and maintaining production lines in a factory. Manages communication and coordination among different types of engineers working on a project. Supervises project schedule, budget, and communications with stakeholders.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technical staff Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies Develop and implement manufacturing processes that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize throughput Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production readiness activities Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Program Management Analyze production data and implement corrective actions to improve KPIs Oversee process documentation, work instructions, routings, and manufacturing standards Lead capital equipment and automation projects from concept through implementation Ensure compliance with aerospace quality requirements and regulatory standards Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS
Needed (Required): Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field) Minimum 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within aerospace, precision machining, or advanced manufacturing Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams Strong background in CNC machining, aerospace manufacturing processes, tooling, and process development Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and aerospace specifications Experience supporting AS9100 quality systems Proven project management and organizational ability U.S. Person status (ITAR requirement) — hard screen Nice-to-Have (Preferred): Aerospace OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification Experience with automation and advanced manufacturing technologies ERP/MRP system experience NPI leadership experience Capital equipment implementation experience A bit about us: - We are a privately held precision manufacturer specializing in tight-tolerance, mission-critical components for the aerospace industry.
