This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for both day-to-day engineering operations and longer-term process strategy in a Nadcap and AS9100-certified environment. Schedule Full-time, onsite in South Windsor, CT. Compensation $85,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience. Performance-based bonus eligible. What You'll Do You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing, process, and quality engineers, setting clear performance expectations and individual development plans. Your primary operational focus will be overseeing engineering support for production activities, with direct accountability for efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery across thermal spray, chemical processing (plating, anodizing, passivation), and coating technology operations. On the compliance side, you will ensure all engineering processes align with Nadcap, AS9100, and
ISO 9001
requirements. You will support and lead customer, regulatory, and third-party audits, and maintain proper documentation, process validation records, and certification compliance across the department. You will drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives, implementing data-driven improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time. Capital projects fall within your scope as well, including evaluation and implementation of new equipment, automation upgrades, and process improvements that align engineering strategy with broader business objectives. For new program introduction, you will support quoting, feasibility assessment, and process development, and will ensure clean handoffs from development into production. You will review and approve engineering documentation, work instructions, and process flows. Externally, you will serve as a technical point of contact for customers, support customer audits and technical reviews, and oversee supplier technical performance and qualification activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field 10 or more years of engineering experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing 3 or more years of engineering leadership or management experience Demonstrated background in special processes including thermal spray, chemical processing, or coatings Experience with aerospace quality systems (Nadcap, AS9100, ISO 9001) and audits Preferred Qualifications Direct experience with Nadcap accreditation processes and audit preparation Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Lean certification Strong working knowledge of process validation methodologies and control plans Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems Compensation and Benefits $85,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience Performance-based bonus Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays To apply, submit your resume through this posting.
