What Were Doing

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineering Associate Manager to lead our Avionics Product Center Industrial Engineering and Backshop Labor Estimating teams. The goal of this role is to improve efficiencies in the center by analyzing product build sequences and workflows, and establishing methods and targets for maximum utilization of the center layout and personnel.

The Work

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Managing and contributing to the Avionics Product Center Industrial Engineering Team, supporting analysis of product build sequence and workflow to improve efficiencies

Assuming managerial responsibility over Backshop Labor Estimating, including developing and implementing estimating processes and procedures

Personally learning the backshop estimating statement of work and developing backup estimators within the group

Establishing methods and targets for maximum utilization of the center layout and personnel

Coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection, and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions

Overseeing the establishment of accident prevention measures and managing training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations

Supervising Industrial Engineers conducting studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems

Monitoring the development and implementation of plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods

Assisting in overseeing facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities

Who You Are

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

8 years of experience in Industrial Engineering or a related field, with a focus on process improvement and labor estimating

Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to motivate and develop team members

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in an associated discipline or equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
  • 7 years of professional career experience within a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma priciples

The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
