Director of Engineering Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach FINS Up! Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach is looking for an experienced, energetic, and strategic Director of Engineering to lead engineering and property operations across one of Southwest Florida's most dynamic resort environments. Owned and operated by TPI Hospitality, Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach is a 24/7 - 254-room destination resort featuring five restaurant outlets, a parking garage, beach operations, beach club, and entertainment complex. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, complex operation and knows how to balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day execution. As Director of Engineering, you will play a critical role in keeping the resort operating at the highest level for our guests, team members, and ownership. You will oversee all engineering, maintenance, facilities, life safety, and property infrastructure functions while helping drive operational excellence, preventative maintenance, regulatory compliance, capital improvement support, and team development. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can confidently multitask, solve problems, lead through complexity, and build a strong culture rooted in accountability, encouragement, teamwork, and pride. We are looking for a leader who can set high standards, respond with urgency, develop people, organized, and can operate in a fast-moving environment while still bringing positive energy and fun to the process. What You'll Do Lead all engineering and property operations across the resort, ensuring the property is safe, functional, well-maintained, and operating at the highest standard Oversee engineering support for guest rooms, public spaces, restaurant outlets, back-of-house operations, parking garage, beach operations, beach club, and entertainment complex Direct preventative maintenance, repairs, and overall care of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pool operations, life safety systems, and grounds Conduct regular inspections to proactively identify operational needs, maintenance priorities, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement Ensure maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance tasks are assigned, completed, tracked, and documented through the property maintenance management system Partner with resort leadership to align engineering priorities with operational goals, guest experience, team member needs, and asset protection Lead and support capital projects, renovations, and property improvements that enhance the functionality and long-term performance of the resort Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal codes, permits, licenses, regulations, and safety standards Build, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team that delivers results with urgency, professionalism, and pride Recruit, train, mentor, and hold team members accountable while fostering a culture of ownership, responsiveness, and continuous improvement Serve as a key operational leader who can navigate multiple priorities, adapt quickly, and make sound decisions in a high-volume environment What You Will Bring Five + years of progressive maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality, resort, or complex multi-outlet operations Previous leadership experience managing a team of eight or more team members Universal EPA Certification required Strong knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance, life safety, engineering operations, and regulatory compliance Strong mechanical, maintenance, facilities, and construction aptitude A proven ability to lead in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and stay focused on both details and the bigger picture Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and follow-through A self-starting mindset with the ability to be both strategic and hands-on A leadership style that combines accountability, encouragement, team development, and a positive approach Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to walk and stand for extended periods Frequent bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to perform in a physically active, fast-paced resort environment Why Join Us At TPI Hospitality, we believe in creating a culture where leaders are empowered to make an impact, grow their careers, and build successful teams.
