This role leads a high-performing multi-functional team across a regulated CDMO environment, driving EBITDA growth, on-time customer delivery, and continuous operational improvement while maintaining full cGMP compliance. The successful candidate will be a commercially astute operations leader with a history of delivering measurable financial and operational performance in a PE-backed or high-growth life sciences organization. They will be the primary face of the site to customers, regulators, and the corporate leadership team. They will be a leader who can build strong relationships internally and externally, and create an inclusive, high-performing culture aligned to our values. This role has responsible for the day-to-day, annual, and strategic outcomes of our Florida manufacturing facility. Reporting to Ensera's Chief Operating Officer, the Site Director leads a team of reports based in Lakeland and fully dedicated to the site which span Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, Commercial Management, Quality & Regulatory (QA/RA), Program Management (i.e., new customer onboarding), IT, Finance and HR. For all of these functions, the Site Leader is responsible for delivering successful outcomes both day-to-day and over the long term. For some of these functions including Commercial Management, QA/RA, Program Management, IT, Finance and HR, the Site Director will work collaboratively with Ensera Functional leaders particularly on longer term, more strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and P&L Ownership Own full site P&L including revenue, EBITDA, and cash targets; develop and execute the annual operating plan aligned to corporate growth objectives. Define and execute a multi-year site strategy covering capacity utilisation, capability expansion, and margin improvement. Support commercial opportunities with existing and prospective customers, support business development in partnership with the commercial operations function. Provide regular performance reporting to CEO and ELT with clear metrics, variance analysis, and forward-looking insights. Operations and Manufacturing Excellence Provide executive oversight of all manufacturing, engineering and technical services, program management, supply chain and facilities. Champion a continuous improvement culture (Lean, or equivalent) with tangible EBITDA impact from productivity and waste reduction initiatives. Ensure robust CAPA and deviation management processes that prevent recurrence and protect customer relationships. Drive operational resilience, capacity optimization, and scalable growth. Customer and Commercial Management Function as the primary senior contact for customers, building trusted, long-term partnerships. Ensure customer commitments on timeline, quality, and service are met consistently; proactively manage escalations with transparency and solutions focus. Ensure new customer and products are onboarded with the speed and agility for which Ensera is known. Collaborate with and push on commercial teams to ensure the Site has what is needed to successfully onboard these new pieces of business at pace. Partner with the Chief Commercial Officer, Head of Commercial Management, and Selling & Commercial support teams in the US to support proposals, site tours, and customer due diligence processes. Collaborate with these teams to ensure they are finding the types of Drug and Medical Device products for which Ensera is well suited to provide manufacturing services. Be the face of Ensera to customers considering our Lakeland facility for their outsourced manufacturing needs. In the Ensera selling model, the job of Sales is to convince customers to invest in visiting and evaluating our manufacturing sites. The job of the Site Director and their teams at each site is to convince the customer that we can serve their manufacturing needs with distinctively agile and flexible supply chain services. Quality, Regulatory and Compliance Maintain site licensure and cGMP compliance in conjunction with Quality Leadership in the business. Support and provide site leadership to successful execution of regulatory inspections (FDA, EMA, notified body and customer audits). Partner with the VP of QA/RA to embed a right-first-time quality culture that supports both compliance and operational speed and agility. Ensure that Ensera maintains a top-tier track record on quality on a day-to-day basis and collaborate with the VP of QA/RA on longer-term objectives for the Site. People Leadership and Culture Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing site leadership team. Drive a culture of accountability, psychological safety, and performance through structured goal setting, coaching, and talent development. Ensure workforce planning, succession pipelines, and talent acquisition strategies are in place to support site growth in conjunction with the Chief People Officer. Champion inclusion, employee engagement, and EHS at our core. Act with respect, inclusion, and integrity in all interactions. Financial Deliver site EBITDA expansion year-over-year through a combination of revenue growth through NPI onboarding, margin improvement, and cost discipline. Partner with the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to maintain a robust site reporting cadence with KPIs, dashboards, and forward-looking operational narratives. Work with the Site Financial Lead (i.e., the CFO to the Site Director role) to continually improve the financial and managerial dashboards for the business. Qualifications and Experience Proven leadership experience at a leadership level in pharmaceutical, medical, or life sciences manufacturing. Pharmaceutical secondary packaging experience a must have. Extensive experience as a site director, GM, VP Operations, or equivalent P&L-owning role within a CDMO, CMO, or multi-product regulated manufacturing environment. Demonstrated history of operational performance and continuous improvement. Knowledge of cGMP regulatory requirements (FDA, EU GMP). Proven ability to build and sustain customer relationships at senior/executive level in a CDMO business. Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or related technical discipline.
