In the role of Bridge Section Manager, we'll count on you to: Take responsibility for operations of the bridge section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control in an active marketing capacity Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities. Typical projects include bridge steel plate girder, prestress concrete, box culvert and interchange design for highway and railway projects. You must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design and have proven background of technical leadership on these types of projects. Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions and lead and coordinate services with other sections. Active leader in marketing planning, proposals and interviews. Be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues. See that all work is planned, organized, controlled, and evaluated through proactive project management system. Implement, monitor, and support company policy. Select, hire, train, develop and manage bridge technical personnel. Manage and develop multidiscipline teams for delivery of bridge projects. Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts. Participate in Area and Regional Bridge Coordination and Work Share meetings. Develop staffing projections by forecasting future workload. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) Experience working with the Florida Department of Transportation, especially FDOT District 1 & 7. Bridge Rehabilitation, Inspection & Load Rating experience. Active in Industry Organizations. Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: Bentley Open Bridge Designer & Open Bridge Modeler, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrD & BrR, LARSA 4D, midas Civil, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience A minimum of 10 years experience Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role Strong communication and listening skills Ability to handle multiple assignments Good leadership and organizational skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
