In this critical leadership role, you will oversee all engineering and maintenance operations to ensure the safety, efficiency, and overall excellence of the hotel.
Your responsibilities will include:
Direct and manage all engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations for the hotel. Ensure all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, elevators, and mechanical systems) are properly maintained and operating efficiently. Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to protect hotel assets and minimize downtime. Ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local safety, health, fire, and building regulations. Respond promptly to guest concerns and maintenance issues, ensuring quick resolution and guest satisfaction. Prepare and manage the engineering department budget, control expenses, and manage capital improvement projects. Understanding of financial reports as it relates to labor and expense controls for the department. Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate engineering staff to ensure high performance and accountability. Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation related to maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Coordinate with hotel leadership, vendors, and contractors on repairs, renovations, and special projects. Practice and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and emergency preparedness plans. Minimum of five (5) years of hotel or commercial facilities engineering experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role. Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and life safety systems. Must have comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local building, safety, and environmental regulations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic computer applications. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or college degree preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain required licenses or certifications. CPR and first aid certification preferred. Must be able to respond to emergency situations and be available for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties. Additional language ability preferred.
