Basic Job Functions:
Lead the
Innovation Team:
Lead a team of Product Owners, Software Developers, and Engineers responsible for building and supporting digital tools used across NWS Sales, Business, Estimating, Engineering, Detailing, Production, and Project Management. Oversee daily operations to ensure tools are delivered on time, with quality and within budget. Drive the development of NWS digital Sales, Business, and Engineering platforms that support customer needs and business growth. Establish standardized product lines to improve Detailing and Production throughput and enhance Product Development through testing procedures aligned with Rack Manufacturers Institute standards.
Team Development and Mentoring:
Support the professional growth of Teammates through training, mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluations. Provide recommendations for compensation adjustments and career development opportunities.
Policy and Procedure Oversight:
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and practices that promote quality, safety, consistency, and operational excellence.
Budget and Staffing Management:
Manage staffing requirements and budget allocations for supplies, equipment, and team resources. Support wage planning to promote fairness, engagement, and retention.
Recruitment and Hiring:
Partner with HR to support recruitment strategies, candidate interviews, selection, and hiring decisions that strengthen the Team and support organizational needs.
Strategic Planning:
In partnership with the Engineering Manager, lead Innovation Team development through training, mentoring, performance management, and professional growth. Build capabilities in business acumen, problem-solving, value engineering, sales, customer service, and innovation.
Benchmarking and Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with other Nucor divisions to benchmark and implement best practices that improve operational performance and customer satisfaction. Partner with the Engineering Manager and Nucor Leadership to align tool development Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered. Experience Leading a Team of multiple individuals. Prior leadership experience in either Engineering, Software Development, or with direct reports. Frequent and extensive travel 25-50% of the time to locations throughout the United States. Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of steel racking industry experience 2 or more years of professional experience in engineering, project management, IT, or Team leadership Nucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace
