Job Description
Who You Are Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Civil or other engineering related discipline. Essential professional licensure/certification (GA P.E. or ability to obtain license). 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) 7- 10 years of environmental project experience, including task management, proposal writing, client contact, and regulatory interaction. Experience with site investigations and remediation of environmental impacts to soil and groundwater. Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work. Experience in conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM guidelines and industry standards. Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements especially in the areas of CERCLA and RCRA. Experience sampling soil and groundwater via drilling including direct-push, hollow-stem auger, sonic, and other similar drilling methods. Experience with soil logging based on the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). Experience installing groundwater monitoring wells, recovery wells, and soil gas sampling points. Subcontractor management experience including procuring subcontractor bids, purchase requisitions and scheduling work. Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC. Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience. Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience writing technical reports and project proposals. Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from test results, data collation, and identify the most cost-effective responses that will minimize waste, prevent pollution, and conserve resources. Effective at coordinating and assertively directing others in the field such as subcontracted drillers, excavation contractors, utility locators, and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
